About

Katie Elder studied at Oxford Brookes University and Wimbledon College of Art - UAL. Today, she continues to develop her own body of work whilst also assisting the renowned artist Patrick Hughes, learning his intricate and unique Reverspective painting technique. She lives and works in North London where she has her own studio as a part of The Bomb Factory Art Foundation.

Elder has exhibited at a number of galleries and art fairs, predominantly in London with her international debut in New York at the Broadway Gallery, 2010. In 2013 she was the youngest artist to be selected for the Critics’ Secrets Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London. She was championed by the critic, writer and poet Edward Lucie-Smith

Elder has always explored the figure through her painting, so it was a natural progression for her to tackle the portrait.
